Sunday, April 12 1908 -- Herriman indulges in an orgy of stereotypes to picture the boxing event happening Tuesday night at Naud Junction. 'Uncle Tom' McCarey of the Pacific Athletic Club is offering a long card of bouts, featuring his hand-picked promising amateurs. The best-looking winners, he says, will be personally shepherded by him on their boxing careers. Many of the fighters are immigrants, so the evening is being characterized as a "Fight of the Nations".
