Wish You Were Here, from Albert Carmichael
Can it possibly be that I haven't featured the great Albert Carmichael on Wish You Were Here yet? Oh, let us rectify that sad state of affairs.
Here's a card from his popular series I Love My Wife But Oh You Kid. A song of this title (listen here) made this catchphrase a huge pop phenomenon in 1909 and later. Carmichael illustrates the phrase over and over, in each a married geezer ogles a beauteous young maid. These are all racy cards, but unfortunately in this one we don't get to see the lovely girl as we do on most. What we lose in sexiness we sure do make up in Peeping Tom creepiness!
This postcard was in series#565 from Taylor Pratt & Co.
