Here's an iconic "vacation" postcard by
Walt Munson; I swear I can remember seeing this card still on the postcard racks when I went on holidays as a kid. According to the back this is a "Colourpicture" Publication, made for the Asheville Post Card Company. Although the typical airbrush look might lead you to assume it is a linen finish postcard, it is actually just flat cardboard. There's no date on this card, but I'm guessing 1940s-50s, and that's well before my vacationing years.
