Obscurity of the Day: Mack and Marx

Since I'm running through the Graphic Syndicate's output, here's Mack and Marx. Amazingly, a Graphic strip that did not feature pretty girls (unless your taste runs to the Rubenesque). Sadly, the sample I was able to lay my hands on barely includes the stars of the strip. Sorry 'bout that.

The strip was credited to Sam Hitt, who I assume is actually Oscar Hitt. It ran 1927-28, no specific dates known because the Graphic only survives in a fragmentary microfilm record.

Yes, I would agree with your assumption. Samuel, is Oscar Hitt's middle name. He also happens to be my great-grand father. I'm trying to find out more about him and any info you could supply would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Jason Hitt

Mack and Marx debut strip is dated 4 November 1926. The Los Angeles ILLUSTRATED DAILY NEWS started running it on 10 November, (with the intro strip). I see it is running as late as 12 October 1928 in the EVENING NEWS (Tonawanda, NY). Idon't know as the 1928 ones might be recycled. Here and in another paper, they have no copyright and dates, but they do have an overinky boilerplate look to them.
