Herriman Saturday
Saturday, October 17 1908 --- Featherweights Ad Wolgast and Freddie Weeks are scheduled to fight tonight, but the fight will be postponed one week, a decision made because of bad weather not being too friendly to fight fans at the roofless venue.
Unfortunately, a week from now the fight will be called off altogether. Both fighters have gained a few pounds in their week off, and they cannot get back down to fighting weight. Wolgast, who is a bright up-and-comer, has also arranged in the interim to fight Abe Attell, an opponent whose stature makes him a better target.
