Wish You Were Here, from Phil May
The great British cartoonist Phil May became the unwitting subject of a series of Tuck cards after he died in 1903. This undivided back card is marked on the back "Tuck Phil May Series No. 1296. Designed in England, Printed in Bavaria". It seems to have been issued in 1906, if our postcard sender didn't let this one sit around a long time before using it.
I wonder where Tuck procured the Phil May images they used, and if they purchased the rights from wherever they came from.
