Wish You Were Here, from Albert Carmichael


Here's another example of Carmichael's "Gee, I Wish I Had a Girl" series, issued in 1909 by Taylor Pratt & Company as Series 568. Our postcard writer, who signed himself only as "Jack", has helpfully labelled the characters so that his recipient (a Miss Florence Urquhart of Nashua NH) knows that this card is no mere off-the-cuff purchase, but represents the tortured contents of his very soul.
